  • ACT : Advanced Combat Tracker
    • A parse program most commonly used for extracting dps and other factores from the log file.
      • Examples:
        • Related Terms: Parse, Dps
  • AE : Area Effect | Area Encounter
    • Primarily refers to encounter based spells or Cas, but can mean to include out of encounter spells or Cas
      • Examples: Green Spells/Cas
        • Related Terms: AoE, Green spells, Blue spells
  • Aggro :
    • Often used synonymously with Hate. The player with the most Hate has Aggro, or the mobs single target attention.
      • Examples: The darn warlock has aggro again.
        • Related Terms: Hate Modification, Aggro Transfer, Hate
  • Aggro Transfer :
    • Transfers a portion of one players "Hate" or Aggro to another. The aggro is never lost or reduced just displaced
      • Examples: Anomalism, Boon of the Damned

  • AoE : Area of Effect
    • Primarily refers to out of encounter spells and Cas but can also refer to encounter and out of encounter multiple target effecting spells and Cas
      • Examples: Blue Spells/Cas

  • Blue Spell/CA :
    • Coded by the color of the icon of the spell/CA it means Out of encounter Hostile, or AoE.
      • Examples: Sonic Boom, Rift
        • Related Terms: AoE, AE, Green
  • Buff :
    • Any Beneficial enhancement CA or Spell
      • Examples:
        • Related Terms: Purple, Orange Buffs, Debuff
  • CA : Combat Arts
    • Melee abilities that are cursh pierce or slashing based and/or can be "cast: while moving.
      • Examples:
        • Related Terms:
  • Controll Effects :
    • Effects that restrict or block the targets ability to control their movment, casting, or attack ability.
      • Examples: Stun, Stiffle, Mezerize, Daze, Charm, Root
        • Related Terms: Stun, Stifle, Mezerize, Daze, Charm, Root
  • Cure :
    • Removes Impairments on target ally
      • Examples: Cure Arcane
        • Related Terms: Dispel
  • Daze :
    • Controll effect that restricts the targets ability to autoattack. The target is still able to cast and move but not swing.
      • Examples: Ego Torrent
        • Related Terms: Stifle, Stun
  • DD : Direct Damage
    • Damage done directly to the target in one ammount, that required no external action to trigger it.
      • Examples: Stroke
        • Related Terms: DoT, Reactive
  • De-Aggro | Deaggro :
    • An ability that Decreases the ammount of hate of a player vrs their target
      • Examples: Concussive
        • Related Terms: Taunt, Hate Manipulation
  • Debuff :
    • Any hostile spell or CA that reduces the resistance stat or skill of the target. This can also include reducing the targets adventure level.
      • Examples:
        • Related Terms: Buff
  • Directional :
    • A Point blank ability spell or CA that is limited to an angel or % of the 360 radius. It emits from the Caster but only in a certain direction.
      • Examples: Frontal damage, Fusion

  • Dispel :
    • Removes Beneficial Spells From target
      • Examples: Dispel Magic
        • Related Terms: Cure
  • DoT : Damage over Time
    • a damage that deals a set ammount of damage each time interval until it expires.
      • Examples: Apocalypse, Breakdown
        • Related Terms: DD, HoT
  • Dps : Damage per Second
    • system of measuring the amount of damage a Player or mob does per second.
      • Examples:
        • Related Terms: extDps
  • DS : Damage Shield
    • a reactive damage buff that triggers a DoT,DD or other effects when the target is struck with melee or casting damage.
      • Examples: Nihilistics, Harmonious Link
        • Related Terms: DD, DoT
  • Dumbfire :
    • a pet or minion that is spawned for a specific encounter or mob. Theese pets have no controlability and cannot do anything other than their specific task, attack a specific mob perform a specific function determined by their spell description. Dumbfire pets are often a reactive trigger from another spell.
      • Examples: Blighted Horde, Broodlings, Contruct, Protoferno

  • Encounter :
    • Refers to all mobs linked together. A mob that is aggroed but not linked to the Encounter would be out of encounter.
      • Examples: Green Spells
        • Related Terms: Green Spells, AoE, AE, OoE
  • extDPS : extended Damage per Second
    • relates to the time the clock starts for measuring the damage any player or mob does per second, all using the same start and stop time. This is often just refered to as Dps, and only denotes a difference when refering to the type of parse used.
      • Examples:

  • Green Spell/CA :
    • Coded by the color of the icon of the spell/CA it means Encounter Hostile.
      • Examples: Nebula
        • Related Terms: CA, AE, Blue
  • Hate :
    • Often used synonymously with Aggro. It is a invisible numerical value that quantifies how much hostile action the player has gained against their target. The player on top of the Hate list has Aggro in most cases.
      • Examples:
        • Related Terms: Hate Hodification, Aggro, Aggro Transfer
  • Hate Manipulation :
    • Abilities that reduce or increase hate against a target.
      • Examples: Taunts, Deaggros
        • Related Terms: Taunt, De-Aggo, Hate Modification
  • Hate Modification :
    • Augmentations that increase or decrease the amount of hate generated by a player.
      • Examples:
        • Related Terms: Hate Manipulation
  • Hate Redux | Hate Reduction :
    • An augmentation that reduces the amount of hate produced by the player. This is different than a De-aggro.
      • Examples: Summon Familiar
        • Related Terms: De-aggro, Hate Manipulation
  • Hate Transfer :
    • Tranfers a portion, most often in % form from one player to another. The Hate is never lost just transferred.
      • Examples: Anomalism, Boon of the Damned

  • HoT : Heal over Time
    • a heal that heals a set amount every time interval until it expires. Druids are the most known for their HoT abilities.
      • Examples:
        • Related Terms: DoT
  • LFG : Looking for Group
    • command or term denoting looking for group.
      • Examples: /lfg
        • Related Terms: PuG
  • Mezz | Mez : Mezmerize
    • Controll effect that restricts the targets ability to cast move or attack. Mez can be "broken" by damage
      • Examples: Mezermize
        • Related Terms: Stun, Stifle
  • Mob :
    • Denotes a hostile attackable entity. There is a distinction between NPC and Mob.
      • Examples:
        • Related Terms: NPC, PC
  • NPC : Non Player Character
    • A neutral or friendly most often unattackable computer character. Some NPC's can be attacked but their main perpose is for functionality of the game.
      • Examples: Venders, Quest givers, Menders, Bankers
        • Related Terms: PC, Mob
  • OoE : Out of Encounter
    • Refers to Mobs not linked together. The full term Out of encounter or AoE are more commonly used.
      • Examples: Blue Spells
        • Related Terms: Blue Spells, AoE, AE, Encounter
  • Orange Buff :
    • Coded by the color of the icon of the spell/CA it means single friendly target - zonewide. This means orange buffs allthough single target do not need to maintain proximity to work like purple Buffs do.
      • Examples: Nihilistics, Anomalism, Impetus, Synergism
        • Related Terms: Buff, Purple Buff
  • Parse :
    • 3rd party program that analizes the log files of a player to determine the dps, heals, resists and much more of an encounter. It often only replies to the dps aspect.
      • Examples: ACT
        • Related Terms: dps, extDps
  • PB : Point Blank
    • Spells and CAs emmiting from the caster. This is most commonly a 360 degree radius
      • Examples:
        • Related Terms: PBAoE,PBAE, Directional
  • PC : Player Character
    • Any character played by a person.
      • Examples:
        • Related Terms: NPC, Mob, Toon
  • PuG : Pick-up Group
    • a group formed via /LGF players or unfamiliar players.
      • Examples:
        • Related Terms: LFG
  • Purple Buff :
    • Coded by the color of the icon of the spell/CA it means Group Beneficial
      • Examples: Ease, Clarity
        • Related Terms: Buff
  • Reactive Damage :
    • Damage that requires external action to "trigger" the damage. Damage sheilds are a form of reactive damage.
      • Examples: auspex, aura of Nihility
        • Related Terms: DD, DoT, DS
  • Reactive Heals :
    • Heals that are "triggered" by external action. Clerics are known for their reactive heals.
      • Examples:
        • Related Terms: HoT, Reactive Damage, DS
  • Red Spell/CA :
    • Coded by the color of the icon of the spell/CA it means single target hostile.
      • Examples: Single Target
        • Related Terms: CA, AE
  • Root :
    • Controll effect that restricts a targets ability to move. The target is able to cast and melee.
      • Examples:
        • Related Terms: Stun, Mezz
  • Stifle :
    • Controll effect wich causes the target to be unable to Cast or use Cas
      • Examples: Silence
        • Related Terms: Stun, Mez, Daze
  • Stun :
    • Controll effect that restricts the targets ability to move attack or cast, this cannot be "broken".
      • Examples:
        • Related Terms: Stiffle, Mez
  • Taunt :
    • An ability that increases the hate of a player vrs their target.
      • Examples:
        • Related Terms: De-Aggro, Hate Manipulation
  • Threat :
    • Same as Hate
      • Examples:
        • Related Terms: Hate
  • Toon :
    • Nickname for Player charecters.
      • Examples:
        • Related Terms: NPC, PC
  • Yellow Buff :
    • Coded by the color of the icon of the spell/CA it means self only buffs. Buffs that effect a summoned pet only will also be yellow.
      • Examples:
